Congratulations to Glen Guenter- our Watch 'Em Drop Winner!

I just finished a mule deer hunting trip to Alberta for mule deer and had some success.

I switched to Grim Reaper Razortip broadheads this spring on the recommendation of my archery shop as I had some issues with another brand. After looking at your website and the "Watch them Drop" section I was somewhat skeptical. Not now.

I traveled from my home in British Columbia to Alberta to hunt Mule deer with my good friend, Dave, which has been an annual event for quite a few years. With an early snow storm, just getting to our hunting area was a challenge. There was over a foot of new snow over some old snow and the roads were horrible. It took us most of the first day just to get to and set up camp. The only good sign was we had glassed a couple of good bucks in a logging slash a mile away.

We got up the next morning with the plan to head back to the area we had seen the bucks and still hunt our way into the area. We split up and headed into the area. Within a few minutes I spotted a good buck feeding 1/2 mile away and decided to put a stalk on. Unfortunately after being pegged from a hundred yards and having a 20 minute stand off, the buck decided that it was time to leave.

I figured the buck might head to a nearby ridge so I slowly started working the ridge to see if I could find the buck or maybe push the buck towards my hunting partner. As I was doing this I had no idea my friend had spotted another good buck and was doing a stalk on it. I still hunted along the ridge for quite a while until I was above a select logging slash. I figured I would drop down to the opening to get my bearings and look for deer. As I stood near the edge of an opening I spotted a buck bedded down. As I put my binocs on this average 4x4 muley he got up and moved up into the timber. I was a bit surprised as I didn't think the buck had seen me. I figured I might as well work the bench I was on to see if that buck would be in the timber above me. I hadn't moved more than 50 yards along the bench when I saw antlers below me not more than 50 yards away. I froze as this appeared to be a good buck. With no way to range the buck and no shot, I waited. The buck moved along the hill another 20 yards and I just followed along hidden by the bench. The buck stopped. I estimated the buck at 40 yards, took a step to the right, and released my arrow. I saw the arrow hit the buck a little far forward in the shoulder. The buck bolted and ran about a hundred yards and went down. Wow! a great buck down within view!

As I stood there just trying to get my composure, I saw my friend come out of the timber below me. He had been stalking this buck for an hour and a half and was within 30 seconds of taking a shot when he heard the crack of the arrow hitting and watched the buck run and drop. Sorry Dave!!!!!

We walked up to the buck and were amazed what the arrow had done. It had gone through both shoulders and taken out both lungs. Ok, I am a believer now and am sold on Grim Reapers!

The buck is a 3 x 4 with a kicker point but has a 30'' main frame and is over 31'' wide if you include the kicker.

After a long drag we were able to get a quad to him after and finished the retrieval. Great hunt.

Congratulations to Tony Gagliano- our Bone Busting Winner!

I have just started using Grim Reaper broadheads this '09 archery season and I will say I won't be using anything else. I have shot 2 bucks using the 125 gr Razortip and have had great results.

One of the two was the biggest buck I have killed to date. Killed on 12/1/09. It's a beautiful 8 pt pieball. It was 5:00 pm and losing shooting light very quickly. Just as I thought I wasn't going to see anything, I looked to my left and sure enough, here he comes walking right around the trail on the edge of the swamp. I couldn't believe it. I have video footage from the summer trailcam photos throughout bow season, and there he was. I have been watching this particular deer since July.

As he came within 20 yds I had one shot opportunity and I took it. The broadhead busted through both shoulders and I watched this deer run 40 yds and make a big splash in the swamp. I can assure you I won't be using or recommending anything other than Grim Reaper broadheads; they work just like they are described.

Congratulations to Eric David- our Entrance Hole Winner!

I hunt on managed public lands so the chance for a nice buck comes very seldom, but this nice 8-pointer just happened to come along and after a nice shot he ran 20 yards, stopped, and fell over. This is the first deer I was able to see fall but it was worth the wait. I have killed 11 deer this year all with the Grim Reaper. All of these pictures are of the entrance holes. As you can see the pictures tell all. I am now willing to take a heavy quartering away shot because on one of these deer I hit 2 inches behind the last rib and the Grim Reaper shattered through the opposite shoulder. All of the blood trails are so heavy that they look more like crime scenes. These are the best broadheads I have ever used and I will use them from now on.

Eric David
